Why I became a coach
MY STORY

I’m that rare breed of person who’s both left and right brained at the same time. I’m an artist AND I’m an entrepreneur.

I’ve loved art since I was old enough to hold a crayon and spent my entire youth drawing on any flat surface I could get my hands on.

I was first bitten by the entrepreneur bug at 14 when I decided I wanted to save for a car. I was still too young to legally work so, thinking outside the box, I came up with the idea to build a fleet of lemonade stands. You know, like the ones you see in the old black and white movies, all old boards and bent nails. I placed them all over town and with the help of some friends, it turned out to be a huge success! I was hooked!!!

College led me down many academic rabbit holes including, fine art, psychology, design, photography, marketing, and even landed me in a mentorship program for comic book artists hosted by Marvel comics.

After looking at my options and deciding which would allow me to best feed my need to be creative as well as be my own boss, I settled on my dream career, “photography”. Months after graduating from photography school, I created what would become a successful award-winning portrait and commercial photography studio which I ran until I retired from photography 35 years later.

So how do you go from photographer to business coach, you might ask… It’s actually not as big a leap as you might think. A successful photographer has to have strong people skills and a huge passion for people. You learn how to listen to a client’s needs in order to easily connect with them. You work with people’s strengths and use empathy to put a client at ease in order to help them develop confidence in themselves.

Add to that a few years as a teacher at a local university, starting a few businesses on the side, and having survived just about every kind of economy there is, and you pick up a thing or two about how to run a business.

As the years went by, it seemed natural to connect with other entrepreneurs who wanted to create their own successful businesses as well. I became a coach because I believe everyone has something powerful to contribute to the world but often they find themselves in a place in life where they're not seen, heard, or appreciated. I wanted to change that!

I’ve had many amazing mentors over the years who have radically changed my life for the better and now, I’m in a place to do the same for others.

My journey has been a unique experience, and my goal is to pass along that experience to you so that you may do the same.

Are you ready? Let’s get started!
